ISMF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - MORGINS SUI

The 2025 ISMF World Championships in Morgins, Switzerland, brought together nearly 400 athletes from 34 nations, competing across Youth and Senior categories. This event marked a significant milestone for Switzerland, the birthplace of ski mountaineering, following the successful World Championships in 2008 and World Cup events in 2022 and 2023. With ski mountaineering set to make its Olympic debut at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Games , the stakes were higher than ever.​

Mixed relay: Emily Harrop (FRA) set the pace from the start, widening the gap on her first relay, while Oriol Cardona Coll (ESP) kept Spain in the race. The Swiss duo Marianne Fatton & Robin Bussard went all out for victory, finally finishing 3rd after a totally amazing end to the race.

Vertical: in the vertical race, the athletes had to face exhausting climbs that put their endurance and climbing abilities to the test. Maximilien Drion won and became vice world champion ahead of Aurélien Gay, the first world medal for a senior athlete on home soil, well done! Axelle Mollaret Gachet won gold in the women's category. 

Sprint: The sprint race, known for its fast pace and tactical demands, saw POMOCA athletes excel once again. Oriol Cardona Coll of Spain won gold in the men's event and Thibault Anselmet of France won silver. In the women's event, Marianne Fatton of Switzerland took gold and Emily Harrop of France won silver. These results not only enabled the athletes to distinguish themselves, but also earned their respective nations places in the Olympic quotas.

Individual: The individual race demanded exceptional stamina and a keen sense of strategy. The POMOCA athletes rose to the occasion: Tove Alexandersson (Sweden) won gold in the women's category and Axelle Gachet Mollaret won silver. In the men's category, Xavier Gachet won bronze. These victories underline the dedication of the athletes and the reliability of POMOCA equipment.

Team Race: The championships ended with the team race. The POMOCA athletes showed exceptional synergy, with the French duo of Xavier Gachet and William Bon Mardion winning gold in the men's category. In the women's event, the team comprising Axelle Gachet Mollaret and Célia Périllat-Pessey took gold, while the Italian team including POMOCA athlete Alba De Silvestro won silver.

Beyond the competition, POMOCA was able to provide essential services, including the re-gluing, repair and waxing of skins for various athletes. The constantly spinning wheel of fortune delighted participants, distributing a total of more than 750 ice creams, 300 headbands, as well as hats and caps. These initiatives fostered a dynamic atmosphere, facilitating connections between athletes, coaches and enthusiasts.
